On Monday 23rd August 2010 Central Refrigeration & Air Conditioning of Shrewsbury became the first new member of the Cold Service Group. Commenting on the new acquisition, Company Chairman Peter Grimes said: “Central Refrigeration and Air Conditioning have a customer profile and geographic location that fits well with our “Local” model, and we shall be operating this company as an autonomous branch, but we anticipate significant synergies in marketing, design & application and project management to the benefit of Central and the Cold Group as a whole.”

  • Service Field Supervisor

The Position is split between being field based and office based, to assist the service desk in providing reactive and maintenance works to our customers. A competent person is required to fulfill the roles and responsibilities as follows; Provide technical support for both the Service Desk Supervisors and the Service Engineers. Compile standard van stock lists based on customer requirements and random checks of engineers daily time sheets and work sheets. Random checks of engineers vehicles to ensure stock levels are correct and vehicle are kept clean and tidy. Ensure Health and Safety is adhered to and that all engineers have all of the correct information and equipment. Assist the service desk in achieving customer KPI’s, ensuring F Gas procedures are being adhered to. Regular review meetings with service engineers to identify training requirements and arrange dates. Assist in the planning of maintenance schedules and in maintenance tenders, when required. Provide emergency cover when required and arrange for emergency standby cover, which includes providing a rota. Attend problem sites and come up with refrigeration and air conditioning solutions including inspections of engineering standards and deal with any issues that may arrise, deciding if disciplinary action is required. Be included on the Escalation Manager Rota for out of hours service calls and assist in running the service desk, as and when required. Attend bi-weekly Service Department meetings and complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly.

  • Installation Commissioning/Site Engineer

A competent person is required to assist the Senior Project Manager in the running of and the profitability of the Installation Department with roles and responsibilities as follows; Commissioning of refrigeration and air conditioning systems including fault finding. Issue site defect reports ensuring that all defects are completed before any work starts on site. Issue snagging reports ensuring snags are completed and liaising with Installation engineers regarding specific jobs. Attend site meetings with the Project Manager to liaise with customers contacts on site. Ensure Health and Safety is adhered to on site and that installations conform to both Central and customers specifications within the alloted timescales, responding to emergency call outs when neccesary. Responsible for ensuring F Gas procedures on site are followed, ensuring all commissioning documentation is complete and returned to the Install Administrator. Perform customer handovers of completed works and attend bi-weekly installation meetings.
